Who You Are

Our new Technical Accounting Manager, Revenue will be responsible for technical accounting for collaboration revenue agreements, including researching accounting guidance and preparing technical memorandums. The Technical Accounting Manager, Revenue will also be responsible for monthly and quarterly accounting processes for product revenue, gross-to-net accruals, and collaboration revenue. This role will report to the Associate Director, Revenue.


  • Research, provide, and document technical accounting memorandums, outlining the accounting treatment of product and collaboration revenue-related transactions (i.e., ASC 606 and ASC 808)
  • Collaboration with business development across multiple affiliate companies to get updates on revenue-related milestones, revenue contract amendments, and new revenue contract agreements
  • Accurately calculate and prepare revenue-related journal entries and reconciliations for month-end and quarter-end related to license revenue, collaboration revenue, accounts receivable, deferred revenue, gross-to-net accruals, etc.
  • Support SOX activities and narratives around order-to-cash, collaboration revenue, product sales, and gross-to-net
  • Assist with managing worldwide revenue processes and procedures, including billing, collections, and revenue recognition, with ensuring compliance with US GAAP
  • Manage collaboration revenue AR to ensure timely collection of customer invoices and prompt dispute resolution
  • Collaborate with the Head of Trade and the third-party logistics provider for timely collection of customer invoices for product sales
  • Assist with financial statement preparation and disclosures associated with revenue
  • Working with the external auditors to ensure the company is compliant with revenue recognition rules and policies as well as provide support for annual audit
  • Ensuring compliance with internal controls surrounding revenue recognition to ensure accurate revenue reporting
  • Collaborate with Market Access, Commercial Finance, Sales and Marketing, Pricing, and Accounting teams to ensure gross to net revenue accounting and forecast is accurate and complete
  • Demonstrate strong knowledge of US GAAP and solid accounting skills
  • Demonstrate proficiency in financial analysis, reporting, and interpretation of data
  • Additional duties as needed

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  • 6+ years of progressive experience, with at least three years of Big 4 public accounting experience and revenue technical accounting experience at a publicly traded pharma company
  • Understanding of US GAAP with experience in the application of ASC 606 and SOX 404
  • CPA license preferred
  • BA or BS degree in finance/accounting
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare and support effective presentations of financial results and/or analytical findings
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel working with pivot tables, v-lookups, and other functions
  • Additional knowledge of analytical tools, such as Tableau, is a bonus
  • In-depth knowledge of GAAP and SEC rules
  • In-depth knowledge of SOX requirements
