Who You Are

This is an operations-focused position that plays a critical role in executing a wide variety of strategically important projects within Finance to scale our business efficiently. A successful candidate will possess analytical savvy, problem-solving sophistication, and a dedication to making the highest impact. The candidate should feel comfortable wearing multiple hats as they will manage a diverse set of responsibilities. The successful candidate will operate as a true partner to business leaders, Finance, HR, Accounting, and other functional areas. The candidate should feel uniquely comfortable operating on both strategic and tactical levels as they will support processes related to financing, strategic transactions, internal operations, and overall company strategy.

Responsibilities

Strategy Responsibilities

  • Engage in ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects to support the Finance leadership team in making critical business decisions
  • Lead diligence for all strategic transactions (e.g., preparing and setting up diligence files, investor presentation back-ups, and data rooms)
  • Due diligence will cover topics such as FDA correspondence, valuation, IP, budgeting, and program development
  • Track and monitor analysts’ estimates and notes. Report to Finance leadership consistently to ensure awareness of any notable developments and key trends
  • Work cross-functionally with our Portfolio Intelligence team to perform ongoing market & competitive research/analysis to inform valuation, business planning, and potential exit strategies

Operations Responsibilities

  • Build/create/drive scalable Finance related operational processes in collaboration with key stakeholders across multiple functions (affiliates, HR, Finance, and Accounting) to minimize operational friction
  • Drive monthly and quarterly close processes for the Finance Team and work closely with Accounting on their strategy, aiding in the completion of relevant reviews, documentation, and reconciliations
  • Ensure the highest standards of financial control and compliance in-line with the Sarbanes-Oxley Act and ensure that internal rules and procedures are followed to satisfy periodic reviews of compliance with auditors
  • Support project team interactions & workstreams with third parties (i.e., bankers, lawyers, auditors, and consultants)
  • Manage tasks/projects related to equity & investments (e.g., updating capitalization tables, refreshing 409A valuations, and tracking affiliate funding)
  • Partner with the People Team on the evolving build-out of our compensation philosophy and structure across affiliates
  • Manage and maintain a companywide tracking system of program developments & milestone achievements

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in science, engineering, business, or finance/accounting required
  • 1-3 years minimum of relevant work experience, preferably in one of the following areas: management consulting, investment banking, or corporate development/operations roles within the biopharma industry
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
  • Able to perform data analysis via Excel to inform business & financial decision making
  • Collaborative working style and demonstrated ability to build strong cross-functional relationships
  • You are comfortable taking a quantitative approach to problem-solving and are comfortable with financial modeling
  • Experience preparing and presenting information to key decision-makers
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Experience analyzing and understanding sales forecasts, P&Ls, and company valuations
  • Understanding of discounted cash flow, net present value, internal rates of return, and risk analysis
  • Ability to identify process / operational gaps & inefficiencies and propose / execute solutions
