Who You Are

The Accounting Manager, Consolidation will own the monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation of 20+ entities, including accounting for non-controlling interests. The role is a key member of a growing accounting team and must have strong operational experience with Variable Interest Entities and VIE-related reporting disclosures and reports. The Accounting Manager, Consolidation will report into the Controller.


  • Primary process owner of monthly, quarterly and annual consolidation of 20 plus entities, including accounting for non-controlling interests (NCIs) and elimination entries
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual consolidating balance sheet, statement of operations, statement of stockholders’ equity and statement of cash flows
  • Monthly monitoring, assessments and documentation of Variable Interest Entities (VIE) analyses and related NCI calculations, Investments in subsidiaries analyses, VOE and VIE-related reporting disclosures and reports
  • Research and prepare technical accounting memoranda to support consolidation (or non-consolidation) of entities, equity method of accounting. Liaise with SEC/Technical Accounting Senior Manager in drafting certain technical accounting memoranda
  • Establish and document accounting consolidation processes, including ownership of design and execution of key controls
  • Assist/Prepare/Review draft quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures, as needed
  • Support ad hoc requests from other accounting team members to support business needs
  • Address/Respond to external auditors’ audit queries
  • Be integral to the month-end and year-end close process
  • Support future ERP/system implementation
  • Support and assist in any other ad hoc projects

Education, Experience & Skills Requirements

  • Degree in accounting
  • CPA required
  • Big 4 experience highly preferred
  • 4 or more years of relevant experience. Solid understanding of consolidation under US GAAP, specifically relating to consolidation under VOE and VIE models, accounting for noncontrolling interests, equity method of accounting, consolidation eliminations entries and reconciliations
  • Excellent technical accounting research skills
  • Biotech experience, a plus
  • Public accounting experience strongly preferred
  • Strong project management skills, attention to detail, accuracy, ability to work independently and multi-task, work under pressure, meet deadlines
  • Excellent communication skills (written and oral)
  • Outstanding organization and detail-oriented skills
  • Results-oriented team player who leads by example and takes full ownership of work
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • NetSuite or other similar ERP systems experience (will transition to best-in-class ERP system in the near future)
